What ScamShield catches
Built around the scams that actually land in Indian inboxes and phones.
- Banking, KYC & UPI scams
- "Your account is blocked, verify your KYC now" messages, fake bank links, and requests for your OTP, PIN or CVV.
- Fake jobs & recruiters
- Offers that ask for a registration or processing fee, work-from-home bait, and interviews that were never real.
- Delivery, prize & lottery bait
- Parcel held for customs fees, "you have won" rewards, gift cards and claim-now links.
- Police, government & tech-support threats
- Fake CBI, police or Aadhaar notices with arrest threats, and "your computer is infected" pop-up scams.
- Investment, romance & family impersonation
- Guaranteed-returns trading bots, overseas friends needing customs money, and "Mom, it's me" emergencies.

Frequently asked questions
Is ScamShield AI free, and do I need to sign up?
Yes, it's completely free and needs no account. Paste a message, get a verdict.
Do you store the messages I paste?
No. The message is checked and the report is sent back to your screen, and that's it — nothing is saved to a database, a log or your browser. Refresh the page and it's gone.
How does it decide the risk score?
Two independent checks. A rule-based engine looks for the patterns real scams use — urgency, credential requests, fee demands, public email senders posing as banks, suspicious links. An AI model then reads the message as a whole. The two scores are blended into one 0–100 risk score. If the AI is busy, the rule-based verdict still comes through.
What do the verdicts mean?
0–24 Likely Legit, 25–49 Needs Verification, 50–74 Suspicious, 75–100 High Risk Scam. Whatever the score, never share an OTP, PIN or password, and verify through the official app or website — not a link in the message.
Can a message still be a scam if the score is low?
Yes. No checker is perfect, and scammers keep changing their wording. Treat the score as a second opinion, not a guarantee — if something feels off, verify it directly with the organisation using contact details you already trust.
I've already paid or shared my OTP. What now?
Act fast: call the national cybercrime helpline 1930, report at cybercrime.gov.in, and call your bank's official number to block the card or account. The sooner it's reported, the better the chance of stopping the money.
